At Sunstate Marine, underwater work isn’t just a service—it’s a mission. Founded by Jeffrey
Hoffmann, a U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran, this Florida-based business brings discipline,
grit, and unmatched expertise to every dive.
Jeff served in Iraq. Between deployments, he found quiet clarity beneath the surface—a world of
silence and stillness where the chaos faded and breath became purpose.
From Warzones to Workboats:
After his military service, Jeff traded his combat boots for full-time fins. He spent nearly two
decades as a commercial diver in the frigid, low-visibility waters of New York and New Jersey.
There, he supervised and performed complex underwater work—bridge footing encasements,
underwater welding, and more—in environments where precision meant everything.
That experience, forged in pitch-black, bone-chilling water, now translates to unmatched
efficiency in Florida’s warm, clear seas.
From Battlefield to Bubbles:
But it’s not just steel, silt, or barnacles that drive Jeff’s passion for diving. For him, every moment beneath the surface feels like discovering a hidden treasure.
Whether he’s hovering weightless beside a coral head or sharing the stillness as sea turtles glide past, diving is more than a job—it’s a connection.
That’s what led Jeff to become a PADI scuba instructor.
Not just to teach skills or hand out certifications, but to share those unforgettable moments—Whether it’s the meditative calm, drifting with the current, or the adrenaline spike of descending to a long-lost wreck. Those moments where divers realize they’re not just surviving down there—they’re thriving.
Today, Jeff calls Florida’s Treasure Coast home. He leads Sunstate Marine with the same commitment and discipline he learned in the Corps—driven by a love for clean hulls, strong boats, and thriving ocean life.
